Ryan Millet resumes clinical duties at Dalhousie University
Millet returned to the student dentistry clinic on March 6
Ryan Millet has resumed clinical duties at Dalhousie University’s dentistry school.
Millet is the 13th male student involved in the school's Facebook scandal. On March 2, the Halifax university said 12 male students who were members of a misogynist online group had returned to clinical duties.
On Friday, Bruce MacIntosh, Millet's lawyer, told CBC News Millet remained suspended for four additional days and returned to the student dentistry clinic on March 6. He says Millet is currently writing exams.
MacIntosh earlier told CBC News that Millet was excluded from the restorative justice process because his client "refused to acknowledge that he was guilty of blatant unprofessionalism.” At that time, the lawyer said the admission was one of several conditions for returning to clinical practice.
Today, MacIntosh said those conditions are a matter of “ongoing discussion.”
MacIntosh says Millet's only involvement with the Facebook group was clicking "Like" on a photo from a humour website. Millet later helped expose the Facebook page.
Millet wants his suspension expunged to fully clear his record.
