Rocky Jones’s daughter reflects on father’s legacy

She and her younger siblings have many memories of going fishing, being in the outdoors near Truro, and going to Preston to visit relatives with him.

But she also remembers going along to public meetings and events, and being along for the ride as he and her mother advocated for racial equality and social justice.

She said she has vivid memories of the time their home in Halifax was fire-bombed.

Here she is talking to Mainstreet's guest host Jackie Torrens about those early days.

Jones died Monday after suffering a series of heart attacks. He was 71.
