A doctor from Pugwash, N.S., has been ordered to appear before a disciplinary hearing of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Oluwarotimi Fashoranti was given a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to one count of assault last year.

A spokesperson for the college would not comment on the specifics of its hearing, but the college traditionally waits until the conclusion of any criminal proceedings before taking any disciplinary action of its own.

The hearing will take place from July 23 to 25 at the college's Halifax office.

Two years ago, Fashoranti was found not guilty of sexually assaulting a female patient at the All Saints Hospital in Springhill.
