Nova Scotia·FORECAST

Peter Coade's weather forecast for Feb. 18, 2015

Any sunshine we get this morning will be short-lived as yet another disturbance is headed our way to pass by to our south tomorrow.

Snow, 2 days of fair weather, and then? You guessed it, more snow

A disturbance passing by to our south was responsible for scattered flurries in some communities this past night and will continue its movement into the north Atlantic, taking its cloud with it.

However any sunshine we get this morning will be short-lived as yet another disturbance is headed our way to pass by to our south tomorrow.

This next one however will come a bit closer to our shore and leave behind some shovelable snow in some communities of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and possibly southeastern New Brunswick.

Amounts of five to 10 centimetres are possible.

This particular feature will clear the region Thursday night and an area of high pressure to our west will build into the Maritimes bringing the week to an end with a mostly sunny Friday and Saturday.

Then along comes Sunday.

What follows two days of fair weather in the Maritimes? You may be sorry you asked. Yes, it looks like another wintry mix of weather for Sunday with snow and rain.

Temperatures will moderate tomorrow with the disturbance in the area then fall back to colder than normal with the return of fair weather to end the week and start the weekend. Temperatures should then rise to above the normal with the disturbance and wintry mix on Sunday.
