Storms roll through parts of N.B., N.S.
Most of the region under heat warning all day Saturday
A cluster of thunderstorms moved through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick on Saturday, but the severe weather warnings were taken down by evening.
CBC meteorologist Ryan Snoddon said the cluster dropped from 10 to 30 millimetres of rain in most of southwestern Nova Scotia with amounts topping 50 millimetres from the heaviest downpours.
As of 5 p.m., Environment Canada had severe thunderstorm watches in place for eight mainland regions, including Halifax Metro and Halifax County West. But all but two — Queens County and Sherlburne County — were removed a short time later.
There was one thunderstorm warning in place for New Brunswick — Campbellton and eastern half of Restigouche County. Seven areas remained under severe thunderstorm watches.
Environment Canada said humidex values in the region were expected to reach 36 degrees.
