Boat capsizes near Port Medway with 2 people on board
No word on condition of 2 people thrown overboard when boat overturned
A rescue operation ended off the shore of Port Medway, N.S., Saturday afternoon after a boat with two people aboard overturned, but there is no word yet on the condition of the people who were found.
Capt. Marc Greatti of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre said they sent an aircraft to help.
"There was a call about an overturned crabbing vessel. There wasn't any visual on the occupants, so we sent an Aurora out that did a search," he said.
The Coast Guard and local vessels searched the waters. One of the capsized boat's occupants was found and taken to hospital. There is no word on that person's condition.
Greatti said JRCC then got a call that the second occupant had been found by a local boat. Greatti didn't know the condition of the second person either.
RCMP have not released any information about the incident.
