Most public schools across Nova Scotia are closed today due to weather.

The first big storm of 2016 has forced all school boards to close with the following exceptions:

  • Schools in Shelburne County as part of the Tri-County Regional School Board are open
  • Liverpool Regional High School is open
  • South Queens Middle School is open
  • Dr. J.C. Wickwire Academy is open

Heavy, wet snow and high winds knocked out power to thousands across the province this morning. Dozens of other delays are also being reported on CBC Nova Scotia's Storm Centre.
