Nova Scotia Power has restored power to thousands of customers, but about 300 are going to have to wait until late Tuesay morning for service to be restored.

"Our crews have been stationed throughout the province since early Sunday morning and they're continuing to respond to customer outages as soon as it's safe to do so," said spokeperson Stacey Pineau.

The only outage left to fix is in Amherst. Nova Scotia Power estimates the outage will be restored by 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Nova Scotia Power says it is working with the Department of Transportation and the emergency management office to gain access to the outage sites.
