An 11-year-old girl from Nova Scotia is waiting for Guinness World Records to verify her attempt at the fastest spin on ice skates.

On Monday, Olivia Rybicka-Oliver from Hammonds Plains — a suburb of Halifax — recorded a spin of 342 revolutions per minute, according to an organization called Coalition for Kids International.

According to Guinness World Records, the record is 308 revolutions per minute, set by Russia's Natalia Kanounnikova in 2006 at the Rockefeller Center in New York City.

There's no word yet on when Rybicka-Oliver's attempt will be verified by Guinness World Records.

Rybicka-Oliver did her spin at the National Stadium in Warsaw as part of a fundraising effort for Fundacja Dziecieca Fantazja in Poland and for a Canadian Charity called Leave Out Violence.

She was born in Poland and now lives in Hammonds Plains.

"I love figure skating and I’ve been training so hard for this moment. I also love to help others," said Rybicka-Oliver's website leading up to the challenge.

She started skating when she was four years old.
