Crown and defence lawyers are making arguments without the jury present at the second-degree murder trial of Kale Leonard Gabriel.

Gabriel is charged with the 2010 death of Ryan Matthew White.

The 21-year-old White was found dead outside a building in the Mulgrave Park housing complex in Halifax's north end.

What's being said in court Monday cannot be reported at this point because the jury is not present. The trial is expected to resume hearing testimony on Tuesday.

The Crown wrapped up its case on Friday. The defence will be calling evidence once legal arguments are complete.

The trial started last week and is before a Nova Scotia Supreme Court judge and jury in Halifax.
