Third fatal highway crash in Nova Scotia this week

A Dartmouth motorcyclist has died following a crash on Highway 104 just east of New Glasgow, said RCMP.

The crash happened at approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday on the undivided portion of Highway 104 in Broadway, between Barneys River Station and Sutherlands River.

A motorcycle traveling eastbound left the road and collided with a truck, said RCMP. The 52-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not been released.

RCMP said heavy rains in the area are being considered as a factor in the crash. A collision analyst is on the scene and all traffic is being diverted through one lane.

Thursday's crash was the third fatal highway accident in as many days in Nova Scotia. A six-year-old Bedford boy died after a crash on Highway 101 on Tuesday and a 55-year-old Lawrencetown man died on Wednesday after a head-on collision on Highway 207.
