Macdonald Bridge in Halifax to be closed Saturday night to Monday

The Macdonald Bridge will be closed to vehicles from Saturday night until Monday morning.

Halifax Harbour Bridges said the road deck will be closed from 7 p.m. on Saturday until 5:30 a.m. on Monday.

The Mother's Day closure isn't part of the Big Lift, officials said, but extra work is needed to replace two bearings on one of the bridge piers.

You can still walk or bike across, as those lanes will remain open.
