Crown prosecutors stayed two charges against Jeffrey Kendall Brown Monday as he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft under $5,000.
Brown was accused, along with Halifax lawyer Lyle Howe, of drugging and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman.
The charges stemmed from an alleged incident on March 21, 2011.
Howe is slated to be in court on the two charges later this year. He has elected trial by judge and jury.
The crown says it hasn’t decided whether to call Brown as a witness in that case.
Mark Bailey, Brown’s lawyer, said he’ll be asking for a discharge when his client is sentenced in December.
