1,000 lost power in Queens County after logging truck crash
Driver taken to hospital after being pulled from truck
A man was taken to hospital and about 1,000 Nova Scotia Power customers lost power after a logging truck crashed into a power pole in Buckfield, N.S., on Sunday.
An RCMP spokesperson said emergency services responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Highway 210 and Labelle Road around 11 a.m.
The truck was loaded with logs when it crashed into a power pole, the spokesperson said.
RCMP said they learned the truck was travelling west on the highway when it rolled over at the intersection of Labelle and crashed into a power pole, causing the outages.
The driver and lone occupant of the truck, a 66-year-old man from Chester Grant, had to be pulled from the truck. He was taken to hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
Power was knocked out in the area. It was subsequently restored.
Highway 210 was closed for several hours but has since reopened
