Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin has been sent to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, says a posting on the team's website.

Drouin's season got off to a good start, notching one goal and five assists in his first five games. However, in the 14 games since then, he's only managed to score two points, which happened in a Dec. 2, 2015 game against the Anaheim Ducks.

The 20-year-old missed some time this season with a lower-body injury.

During Drouin's 2014-2015 rookie season, he scored four goals and 28 assists in 70 games.

Drouin was the third pick of the 2013 NHL draft and had a decorated junior hockey career with the Halifax Mooseheads.
