Information Morning is celebrating 45 years on the air.

The radio program celebrated on Wednesday with a live show at Halifax's Central Library.

The program was first broadcast on June 1, 1970. The show brings a mix of "survival information" including news, weather and traffic, as well as more in-depth radio projects on local and national topics.

The first Information Morning co-hosts were Bob Oxley and Paul Kells. The now-veteran Information Morning host Don Connolly came on board in 1976.

Louise Renault joined the team in 2010.

The show was broadcast from the CBC's historic, art deco-style radio building until last November when the Halifax office moved to Chebucto Road.

Last September, Information Morning made history by broadcasting live for the first time from Sable Island, located 300 kilometres off the coast of Nova Scotia.
