New Waterford bust yields hydromorphone, cash

Cape Breton Regional Police Service and the RCMP Joint Force Drug Sections have seized "a substantial quantity" of hydromorphone and money after executing two search warrants at two homes in the New Waterford area Friday.

A 53-year-old man was charged with possession for purpose of trafficking in hydromorphone and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and resisting arrest.

A 62-year old man was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in in hydromorphone.

Police say the two men are brothers.

Both accused are in custody at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre and will appear in Sydney provincial court on Nov. 30.
