Hunter's moon to be revealed over most of Nova Scotia with clear skies

Broken cloud cover will be around Nova Scotia for the early evening, but it will clear away toward midnight. 

If you're out under those clearing skies, take a quick scan around and you'll be able to see the hunter's moon, the second full moon occurring after the autumnal equinox.

The first full moon after the equinox is the harvest moon.

The one exception to the mostly clear skies will be in Cape Breton. Partly cloudy conditions will persist overnight along with some isolated showers. The few showers may even mix with some wet flakes in the Highlands, where temperatures will be cooler.

Speaking of temperatures, it will be a cold night province-wide with temperatures lows ranging from –4 C to 1 C depending on where you are in the province.

Tuesday will have a chilly start, but with a high pressure system in place, it will also be sunny. Afternoon high temperatures will range from 6 C to 10 C.

The coolest area of the province will be in Cape Breton and the warmest will be in the communities on the southwestern Atlantic coastline like Lunenburg and Shelburne.

Winds will turn west, sustained near 20 km/h but with gusts of up to 40 km/h.

Mainly clear skies Tuesday night will lead into another bright day for Wednesday.

Temperatures will come up a few degrees mid-week and highs of 9 C to 11 C are in the forecast.
