Environment Canada has lifted weather warnings after a day of high winds in much of Nova Scotia.

There were wind warnings for Digby County, Shelburne County and Yarmouth County early in the day. Winds were expected to get to 90 km/h in some places.

At one point on Saturday, about 15,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were without power across the province. Most of the outages have been resolved.

"[The] outages were primarily related to trees on lines due to high winds in parts of the province," Nova Scotia Power spokesperson Deanna Miller said in a statement Saturday. "In anticipation of the weather, we had additional crews on standby for today and some local contractor crews as well."

Marine Atlantic ferry crossings between North Sydney and Port Aux Basques, N.L., overnight and Sunday morning have been cancelled.

All ferry crossings between Digby and Saint John, N.B., have also been cancelled for Saturday.
