Gas price lowest in Nova Scotia since October 2010
New price in Halifax sitting at $1.076
The price of gas dropped again this week in Nova Scotia, reaching the lowest price in four years.
Regular gas in Halifax is selling for $1.076 per litre, about a six cent drop. Diesel dropped to 117.5 cents per litre.
Home heating oil is also down in price.
Steve Williams, president of Affordable Fuels, says it's a trend that could continue as we venture into the coldest months of the year.
"If you look at the way the market is going it appears to be a trend like that, but all it takes is for something to go on in the Middle East and that could turn around pretty quickly. Right now we're hoping it stays the way it's going," said Williams.
Pete Robinson is glad to hear there's been another drop in the price of gas.
He goes through a lot of fuel.
"Tractors and lawn mowers and chainsaws and four wheelers. Oh it makes it so much more easier. You don't have to pry your wallet open all the time," he said.
Eight months ago the price of gas was $1.45 a litre.
Jennifer Fall says the plummeting price couldn't come at a better time.
"Oh ya for sure, more travel. Especially over the holiday and travelling going to visit with family and friends," she said.
