RCMP charge fifth person with attempted murder after Eskasoni stabbing

Eskasoni RCMP have charged five people with attempted murder after a stabbing on Shore Road in Eskasoni, N.S., Tuesday. An 18-year-old man and four male youths were being held in custody on Thursday.

RCMP have charged a fifth person with attempted murder after a stabbing on Shore Road in Eskasoni, N.S., early Tuesday morning.

An 18-year-old man from Eskasoni and three male youths were initially charged with attempted murder on Tuesday. RCMP charged a fourth male youth on Wednesday, also with attempted murder.

All five are being held in custody pending court appearances on Thursday and Friday.

A 19-year-old Eskasoni man was taken to hospital by ambulance with what police described as life-threatening injuries after police were called to Shore Road on Tuesday around 4:35 a.m. AT.

The investigation is ongoing.
