Ellie Black moves on to individual all-round gymnastics final
Black did not qualify to move on in the vault, beam, uneven bars or floor exercise events
Halifax's Ellie Black competed in Rio Sunday night and qualified to move on to the all-round individual finals but did not advance in several individual events.
Black placed 13th overall in qualifying with a score of 56.965. She and teammate Isabela Onyshko of Brandon, Man., who placed 10th overall, will both move on to the individual finals which will be held Aug. 11
The Canadian artistic gymnastics team narrowly missed qualifying for the team final, coming in ninth place with a score of 171.761.

She placed 14th in the vault competition with a score of 14.499 and 15th in the floor exercise, her score of 14.133 was the highest of any Canadian. She finished 44th in the beam and 31st in the uneven bars.
