9 new COVID-19 exposure warnings issued in Halifax region

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is warning of nine new possible exposures to COVID-19 in the Halifax region.

People present at the following locations during the dates and times cited are asked to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19:

• Your Father's Mustache at 5686 Spring Garden Rd., on Nov. 13 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Anyone exposed to the coronavirus at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 27.
• La Frasca Cibi & Vini at 5650 Spring Garden Rd., on Nov. 13 between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 27.
• Moxie's Grill and Bar at 182 Chain Lake Dr., Bayers Lake, on Nov. 15 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 29.
• Winners at 206 Chain Lake Dr., Bayers Lake, on Nov. 15 between 3:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 29.
• Telus at 120 Susie Lake Cres., Bayers Lake, on Nov. 15 between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 29.
• Chatters Hair Salon at 194 Chain Lake Dr., Bayers Lake, on Nov. 15 between 2:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 29.
• Ironstone Strength & Conditioning at 2631 King St., Halifax, on Nov. 16 between 5:45 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Nov. 30.
• GoodLife Fitness at 41 Peakview Way, Larry Uteck, on Nov. 15 between 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.; Nov. 16 between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.; and Nov. 17 between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Dec. 1.
• Superstore at 1650 Bedford Hwy., Bedford, on Nov. 18 between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Anyone exposed at this location may develop symptoms up to, and including, Dec. 2.

Auburn Drive High School closed Friday

On Thursday evening, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education announced that Auburn Drive High School in Cole Harbour will be closed Friday after a second case of COVID-19 was identified at the school.

It is the second case of COVID-19 to be identified at the school. The first case was identified Monday and involves a student who has been isolating at home.

Graham Creighton Junior High in Cherry Brook also reported a case Monday.

1 new case in central zone

Earlier in the day, Nova Scotia reported one new case of COVID-19 in the central zone, which is under investigation, according to a news release from the Department of Health and Wellness.

Prior to Thursday's announcement of an additional case at Auburn Drive, there were 23 known active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia. One person is in hospital.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority completed 1,314 tests on Wednesday.

Nova Scotia has had 125,434 negative test results, 1,155 positive COVID-19 cases and 65 deaths since March.

The latest numbers from around the Atlantic bubble are:

• Newfoundland and Labrador reported one new case Thursday. The province has 10 active cases with two people in hospital.
• New Brunswick reported four new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The province has 43 active cases. The Moncton region has returned to the orange phase of recovery.
• P.E.I. last reported a new case Nov. 11. The province has three active cases.

Symptoms

Anyone with one of the following symptoms should visit the COVID-19 self-assessment website or call 811:

• Fever.
• Cough or worsening of a previous cough.

Anyone with two or more of the following symptoms is also asked to visit the website or call 811:

• Sore throat.
• Headache.
• Shortness of breath.
• Runny nose.
