WIFT-AT Making Waves returns to in-person event in Halifax
Conference celebrates, helps expand representation and gender equity in film and television

The conference offers presentations, screenings, workshops, the CBC Pitch Competition, panel discussions, spotlight conversations and networking opportunities.
The two-day event will attract influential movers and shakers in the film and entertainment industries, who come to discuss both the art and business of developing projects for film and television.
It's an opportunity to celebrate, empower and connect industry professionals and to participate in WIFT-AT's ongoing efforts to expand representation and gender equity in film and television.
The conference is an opportunity for film, television and screen-based media professionals from a variety of roles to come together and learn about the industry.
CBC Pitch Competition
Five filmmakers will compete for a prize package including $5,000 from CBC, services from 902 Post, and more.
The competition is open to WIFT-AT members who are women or gender-diverse and from underrepresented groups: Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, and the 2SLGBTQ+ communities, or individuals living with a disability.
The finalists will each present a five-minute pitch before a jury of industry professionals and a live audience during Making Waves on Friday, March 24 (3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.) at the Prince George Hotel
