Cash found scattered on Dartmouth street; owner sought
Woman out for walk spots bills at Laurier Street and Woodland Avenue
Police are trying to figure out who owns money that was found scattered on a Dartmouth street on Monday.
Halifax Regional Police say a woman out for a walk spotted the bills at the intersection of Laurier Street and Woodland Avenue.
She picked up the cash and called police, but so far officers haven't been able to find the owner. Police said the amount is between $100 and $1,000.
It is one of a handful of lost money cases that Halifax Regional Police have dealt with over the last six months.
In December, a large sum was found in the parking lot of the Quinpool Centre.
And in February, employees of a Value Village in Dartmouth found thousands of dollars hidden inside drapes that had been dropped off at the store. A woman who donated the drapes later came forward; the money was to pay for her mother's funeral.
In March, an employee at the Scotia Square Starbucks found an envelope with money in it underneath a chair.
