Popular hike on Fundy shore blocked by downed trees

Cape Split, a popular hike on Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy shore, was badly damaged by storm Arthur and will remain closed until further notice.

The Department of Natural Resources says the trail was heavily hit by the July 5 storm. Many sections are blocked by downed trees.

Other trees near the trail are at high risk of falling on the trail, too. The trail is unsafe to use until it is cleared.

The department didn't estimate when Cape Split will be clear, but did note that the remoteness of parts of the trail will slow work considerably.
