Council office to handle district matters until their return
Two Cape Breton Regional Municipality councillors are recovering from serious health issues.
District 4 Coun. Claire Detheridge has been treated for some weeks in hospital in Halifax for a "brain bleed."
She has represented her area on municipal councils for more than 30 years and is president of the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities.
District 2 Coun. Charlie Keagan has suffered a heart attack.
In a statement, Mayor Cecil Clarke says constituents of the two councillors should contact the CBRM council office with any matters of concern.
