Halifax man in custody after BB gun scare
Halifax police say a man was acting suspiciously outside a home in the South End and they tried to assist him early Sunday morning.

Halifax police say they arrested a man early Sunday morning after he answered the door with what appeared to be a gun in his hand.
Police say they knocked on the door because they found a man acting suspiciously outside the home at around 4:45 a.m.
Sgt. Christina Martin says it turned out to be someone trying to enter a friend's house on the 5700 block of Atlantic Street.
She says when police went to the door to assist, a man answered with a BB gun.
Martin says more police were called in and the 23-year-old was arrested.
The suspect remains in custody and police have not decided if charges are warranted.
