5th annual Nocturne night art festival kicks off
More than 80 exhibits throughout Halifax and Dartmouth
Nocturne: Art at Night 2012 is kicking off its fifth year, taking place at points all around the city Saturday night.
The arts festival invites people to a wide variety of venues to take in everything from paintings and sculpture, to interpretive dance.
People out and about Saturday evening can make their way around on foot, by bike or by using the free bus service set up for the evening.
As for the Dartmouth–Halifax ferry, that will become a performance venue as well.
Organizers say people can enjoy free entertainment by local performers while crossing the harbour, all for the price of a regular transit ticket.
A full guide to the more than 80 events happening during the event is available on Nocturne's website. For those attending the arts festival who are more tech-savvy, there's an app for that.
The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. and runs until midnight.
