3rd access to Bayers Lake park opens

The Washmill Lake Drive underpass is now open, giving shoppers another access to the busy Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax.

The Washmill Lake Drive underpass is now open, giving shoppers another access to the busy Bayers Lake Business Park in Halifax.

The road was opened to traffic at noon Friday. It runs under Highway 102.

The $16-million project gives drivers a third option for getting in and out of the business park.

The councillor for the area, Mary Wile, said residents wanted another access point because of the long lineups on Lacewood Drive, which she said averages about 40,000 vehicles a day.
