Three Nova Scotia writers have been nominated for Governor General’s Literary Awards.
Lawrencetown writer Lesley Choyce is nominated in the English-language children’s literature category for his novel Jeremy Stone, the story of a First Nations teenager who moves from a residential school to a new community.
Pointe-de-l'Église poet Georgette LeBlanc is in the running for the French-language poetry category with her work, Prudent.
Maria Mutch, who was born in Halifax and currently lives in Rhode Island is nominated in the non-fiction category for Know the Night: A Memoir of Survival in the Small Hours.
Winners will be announced Nov. 18.
