Yukon's Drury Creek Territorial Campground has reopened after an aggressive bear was trapped and killed.
The 10-site campground on the Campbell Highway between Carmacks and Faro was closed on Monday because of black bear activity in the area.
Conservation officers set a bear trap and a bear was captured Tuesday evening. Environment Yukon says the decision was made to euthanize the bear due to its aggressive behaviour toward people.
A portion of the Chilkoot Trail, a popular Yukon hiking spot, was also closed recently due to black bears posing a safety risk in the area. Two bears were killed and the trail is now open to hikers.
