3 stabbings in one day prompt RCMP to ask anyone with info to come forward
A series of assaults in Yellowknife over the past three weeks have RCMP seeking information from the public, as well as warning people not to intervene if they witness an attack.
According to an RCMP news release, police have received multiple reports of assaults in Yellowknife since late October.
Police say there was a stabbing downtown October 27 and a robbery with a firearm October 28. One suspect has been arrested in relation with those two incidents, and charges are pending.
The release goes on to read that there were three more incidents at downtown apartment buildings November 13: one, an early morning report of a stabbing, and in the afternoon, two more reports of stabbings.
All three incidents are considered separate, according to the release.
"The persons involved in these incidents are known to police; suspects are still being sought," stated RCMP spokesperson Marie York-Condon.
"We do not believe that the general public is at an increased risk, however, it is always advisable to be aware of your surroundings and to not become involved in any incident you may witness.
Please just call the RCMP and we will respond."
Police are asking anyone with information on these incidents to contact Yellowknife RCMP at (867) 669-1111.
