Year's first Air Greenland flight cancelled
Representative from Air Greenland says there may not have been enough demand for Nuuk-Iqaluit flight
Air Greenland’s first flight of the season from Nuuk to Iqaluit was cancelled Friday.
Christian Keldsen, chief commercial officer for Air Greenland, said he's not sure why the flight was cancelled but he thinks there was not enough demand.
"It's often to be expected of these early flights, just before the big exploration season kicks off, just before summer holiday travelling begins, so I'm not too worried about it," he said.
Keldsen said he is not expecting as many travellers from the energy sector this year because work is behind schedule.
Air Greenland extended its season between the Iqaluit and Nuuk this summer. It's starting two weeks earlier and running almost four weeks later.
A flight from Nuuk is scheduled to arrive in Iqaluit on Monday.
