Winds up to 50km/h forecast for Great Slave Lake Thursday
N.W.T. outlook
A disturbance swinging through the south of the N.W.T. will bring some breezy weather around Great Slave Lake today with winds gusting up to 50 km/h.
Despite the wind, skies should remain clear in the North Slave and South Slave regions, with mild temperatures in the single digits.
Overcast conditions and light flurries are expected today in the Dehcho and Sahtu regions, especially in the morning hours.
After the heavy snow this week, finally seeing some sunshine in Inuvik and the rest of the Delta today (except Tuktoyaktuk, which will hang onto some flurries.)
Cloudy conditions are also in the forecast for the rest of the Arctic coastal regions with windy weather in Sachs Harbour today.
Nunavut outlook
Low visibilities have been reported overnight in Resolute, with heavy fog rolling into the area. The foggy weather will remain this morning with visibilities below 500 metres at times; some improvement is expected this afternoon.
Cloudy and cold weather will remain in the Kitikmeot today with temperatures in the minus single digits.
Cooler weather is also expected in the Kivalliq today, and although Baker Lake will see some sunshine, light snow will remain for the rest of the region.
The south of Baffin Island will also see some light snow today, before heavier rain/snow moves in for the weekend.
Yukon outlook
Temperatures will remain cool, just above the freezing mark again today through the territory.
A low pressure system looks to move onshore through this evening, bringing a mix of rain and snow to many southern communities today and tomorrow.
Warmer weather will move into the Yukon through the weekend though, with temperatures back up to 10 C tomorrow, and remaining warm until Monday.
