The cab of a tractor trailer caught fire at a trucking yard in Yellowknife on Tuesday.

The City of Yellowknife says the fire department was called at around 12:15 p.m. Firefighters arrived at the RTL yard on Old Airport Road and found the cab of a tractor trailer was on fire.

The fire was extinguished by 1 p.m.

This is the second truck cab to catch fire in a week in the Yellowknife area. The cab of a truck caught fire on the Ingraham Trail last week between Yellowknife and the ice road to the diamond mines, closing the highway for about two hours.

Last Monday, a tanker truck rolled over on Highway 3 by Deh Cho Boulevard, causing another highway closure, and on Friday a truck slid off the Ingraham Trail about 50 kilometres out from Yellowknife, near the Cameron River bridge.
