Screening of Tony: Back from the Brink followed by forum for Inuksuk High School Students
On Thursday in Iqaluit, CBC North hostede a screening of Tony: Back from the Brink for students of Inuksuk High School. The film tells the story of Tony Kalluk, an Inuk former violent criminal on the road to redemption and his experience through the Canadian justice and prison system.
Following the screening a forum was held, where youth offered their thoughts on how to create a community justice system that truly heals — and how to provide supports that may prevent future struggles like Tony's.
CBC North's Jane Sponagle tweeted live from the forum.
