RCMP say officers have arrested one of the three people believed responsible for an early morning robbery at a downtown Whitehorse gas station on Wednesday.

Police say they executed a search warrant on a downtown residence late Wednesday night and found the 18-year-old suspect. They also recovered several suspected stolen items.

The teen was already wanted on an outstanding warrant issued earlier this month. He had failed to comply with court-imposed conditions.

The 18-year-old was expected to appear in court on Thursday.

Police are still looking for the other two suspects involved in Wednesday's robbery.

According to police, three male suspects entered the Petro-Canada station on Fourth Avenue with covered faces, and wielding baseball bats. They made off with cash, cigarettes, and other store items.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, and they're asking anybody with information to contact them at 867-667-5555.
