Student arrested after entering Nunavik school with loaded rifle

A student who entered a school in Nunavik with a loaded rifle was arrested by police this afternoon. There were no injuries.

The incident happened at Iguarsivik School in Puvirnituq, Que.

In a news release, the Kativik School Board says the student who entered the school with the rifle was searching for another student.

It says police were alerted immediately and security procedures were followed.

Police arrested the student outside the school.
