Sketch released of suspect in Somba K'e park sexual assault
Public safety meeting tonight at Northern United Place
Police have released a sketch of the suspect in a Yellowknife sexual assault.
The sketch is of the suspect related to the Sept. 7 sexual assault in Somba K’e park. In that incident, a woman told police she was sitting on a swing at the park when she was approached from behind by an intoxicated man.
The man reached from behind and tried to touch her breasts. She pushed him and yelled and he backed off.
The man was described as aboriginal, 30–35 years old, with a round face, shaggy, slightly curly hair, clean shaven and wearing a white T-shirt with blue jeans.

Safety meeting tonight
In the past three months, six sexual assaults have been reported by RCMP in Yellowknife and that has some people questioning how safe they are in the city.
Officials from the Department of Justice, the RCMP, the City of Yellowknife and the Health Department are holding a public meeting tonight at Northern United Place at Franklin Avenue and 54th Street. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
