Hamlet councillor arrested on marijuana charges in Sachs Harbour, N.W.T.

A 24-year-old Sachs Harbour, N.W.T., councillor will appear in territorial court in Sachs Harbour on Nov. 27 to face marijuana charges.

A Sachs Harbour, N.W.T., hamlet councillor has been charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Kyle Wolki, 24, was one of two men RCMP arrested at a Sachs Harbour residence on June 30 while responding to a disturbance call. Wolki was found to have marijuana and was arrested and charged with possession at the time.

Police were later granted a search warrant to enter the residence and found more marijuana, weigh scales and other drug gear.

Wolki was released on the promise to appear in territorial court in Sachs Harbour on Nov. 22, 2017.

When reached for comment in Sachs Harbour, Wolki said he had no comment at the moment.

Wolki was elected to Sachs Harbour council in December of 2016.
