RCMP vehicles blocked the road in two places at the entrance to Tundra Valley, a residential neighbourhood in Iqaluit, early Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple police officers were on the scene, including some pointing rifles at a residence.

The road was open again within two hours, and police said in an email to CBC there was "no ongoing incident" and there's "no cause for concern or issues."

In an update later Wednesday afternoon, RCMP said they had received information and believed that Iola Lucassie was inside the residence in question.

Police said they sent out a news release last week, asking for the public's help locating Lucassie. The news release stated Lucassie was charged with assault causing bodily harm in relation to an incident that occurred at a residence in Iqaluit on Oct. 6.

RCMP said they closed off the road surrounding the residence in question, but Lucassie was not located, and there is still a warrant out for his arrest.

He's described as a five-foot-eight, 150-pound Inuk male with brown eyes and black hair
