RCMP investigate 2 bodies found in Hay River cabin
Police are investigating after two people were found dead in Hay River, N.W.T.
On Sunday, the Hay River RCMP were called to check on the well-being of two people in a campground. Officers arrived on the scene and found two dead bodies in a cabin.
The coroner was contacted and an investigation ensued with the assistance of the Hay River Fire Department.
The man and woman were in their 50s. Foul play is not suspected and the coroner’s office is continuing its investigation. The names of the deceased will not be released.
There is some speculation that carbon monoxide may have been a contributing factor to the deaths. The RCMP says that's not being ruled out.
"That is an avenue we will look at but that'll be determined or the cause of death will be determined we're hoping through the autopsy," Cpl. Barry Ledoux said.
