Rankin Inlet robbery victim stabbed in head

A victim of a robbery in Rankin Inlet was allegedly asked for money and stabbed in the head, just before 5 a.m. on June 1.

The suspect will appear in court on August 15

Both parties involved in the incident were minors, according to an RCMP press release. (CBC)

An armed robbery in Rankin Inlet left one youth stabbed in the head, and another youth facing charges, say RCMP.

The victim was allegedly asked for money and stabbed just before 5 a.m. on June 1.

RCMP say the victim sustained minor injuries and was released from the local health centre after being treated.

A suspect has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and other charges not related to this incident.

The suspect has been released from custody with conditions and will appear in court on August 15 in Rankin Inlet.
