Puppy stolen from NWT SPCA
Five-week-old white, fluffy puppy with floppy ears taken
The Northwest Territories Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says someone stole a puppy out of its Yellowknife office on Tuesday night.
The non-profit group says someone entered the shelter through an unlocked side door and stole a five-week-old white, fluffy puppy with floppy ears on Tuesday night.
NWTSPCA President Nicole Spencer says the puppy was part of a litter of five and hasn't received its vaccinations yet, either.
"They're so susceptible to getting sick and getting things like parvo and distemper that I'm just worried that this pup will get sick if not cared for," Spencer told CBC News.
Spencer says the new shelter will install surveillance cameras in the near future, but she hopes the missing puppy will be returned.
