A group called NWT Citizens for Midwifery are hoping to survey all MLA candidates with regards to issues of midwifery.

There is currently no midwifery program outside of Fort Smith following a suspension of the midwifery program in Yellowknife in order to consider a territory-wide program

Wendy Lahey, a representative from the group, spoke on a special election segment called Citizens Soapbox on the CBC morning show The Trailbreaker saying supporters hope to see various candidates’ visions and ideas of how to make midwifery sustainable in a place like Yellowknife.
