Nunavut Development Corp. gets 5 new board members
Donald Havioyak has been the board's chairperson since March 9
The Nunavut Development Corporation has five new board members.
They are Elizabeth Kingston of Iqaluit, Malaya M. Rheaume of Ottawa, John Ningark Sr. of Kugaaruk, Kolola Pitsiulak of Kimmirut and Sakiasie Sowdlooapik of Pangnirtung.
The five new members will join Donald Havioyak of Kugluktuk, Zacharias Kunuk of Igloolik and John Main of Cambridge Bay, who were re-appointed to the board.
All of the directors will serve three-year terms.
Donald Havioyak has been the board's chairperson since March 9.
Jerry Ell continues as a director until next month. Other outgoing directors of the board include Nancy Karetak Lindell of Arviat, Chris Rudd of Rankin Inlet, David Alagalak from Arviat and Gjoa Haven's Louie Kamookak.
Monica Ell, the minister responsible for the corporation, made the announcement in a news release.
The Nunavut Development Corp. is a territorial organization that aims to develop the economy in several sectors.
