A long-awaited home for Nunavik medical patients travelling to Montreal is expected to open in December 2016.
Maggie Putulik, who works in patient services with Nunavik's regional board of Health and Social Services, says construction of the facility should be completed by October 2016.
The four-floor building will be located in the Dorval suburb of Montreal.
"It will have a total of 91 rooms, including four huge rooms for multiple family members, 40 rooms with two beds, 35 single rooms and 12 for couples," said Putulik.
The building will also feature two playgrounds and a chapel.
Patients from Nunavik travelling to Montreal for medical treatment currently stay at a YMCA.
