One Yellowknife grocery store is running low on produce after delivery trucks got stuck by the current closure of N.W.T. Highway 3.

Highway 3 has been closed intermittently for weeks due to poor visibility from forest fire smoke. The road closed Saturday night and officials say it will remain closed until at least Wednesday at noon.

The manager of Trevor's Independent Grocer says he's waiting for about six or seven trucks to get through. On Saturday, one truck carrying food for the store made it through but it wasn't carrying enough to replenish the emptying shelves.

The manager of Yellowknife's Co-op grocery store says one of their trucks is stuck on the road, but their shelves look fine.

Yellowknife's Wal-Mart says it's also waiting on a truck carrying school supplies, fall fashions and shoes.
