Justin Trudeau arrives in Inuvik, N.W.T.

Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau arrived in Inuvik, N.W.T., Friday afternoon to begin a five-day trip North.

Trudeau and his seven-year-old son Xavier flew on a scheduled First Air flight. Their arrival was barred briefly by a locked door until a passenger inside the terminal opened it for them.

He is scheduled to meet with Gwich'in and Inuvialuit leaders and attend a feast to begin Inuvik's Sunrise Festival Friday night.

Trudeau will continue to Yellowknife Saturday and is scheduled to arrive in Iqaluit on Monday.
